The rest died of hypothermia before the rescures could pick them from the sea.The final death toll was almost 1500.However there were many questions about the sinking of Titanic and why so many survivers were men in the prime of their life While most of the dead were women, childrens and the elderly.

one hundred and fifty people managed to leave the ship but died in freezing water
